China Scholarship Council (CSC) PhD Scholarships 

This scholarship is provides to support Chinese with academically excellent, this is an opportunity provides to Chinese students to study for their Ph.D at the University of Glasgow.This China scholarship council (CSC) Ph.D scholarships scheme are supported jointly between China scholarship council and the Glasgow University.

China scholarship council (CSC) Calls applications from suitable and qualified applicants who wishes to further study (Ph.D) that the application form would be available from January 2025.

For the successfully applicants , College of Social Sciences (CoSS) the will be provide fee waivers and the China scholarships Council (CSC) will consider the applicants application for a living allowance as scheduled by the Chinese government by providing a return airfare from China to the United Kingdom (UK) by the most economical route and the fees for Visa.

The China scholarships Council (CSC)  will be offer to its citizens and permanent residents of China, when the time of application, candidates who is citizens/residents of China will be considered for admission into university of Glasgow, and candidates must be a full time basic for a Postgraduate (Ph.D) programmes.

To qualified for China scholarships Council Ph.D programmes, applicants must be currently working in China when the time of application, and successfully applicants must accept to return to China for the completion of  their research at the Glasgow University.The Applicants who are currently studying outside China are not eligible for this scholarship, and are advised to not apply.

Eligibility Criteria

• Academically Excellent Chinese Students and with high achieving.
• To qualified for China scholarships Council Ph.D programmes, applicants must be currently working in China when the time of application
• Candidates to be eligible, must have an unconditional Provisional offer into a College of Social Sciences postgraduate (Ph.D) Program.
• Candidates who hold a Provisional offer of admission must have meets all the English Language eligibility. Candidates should ensure that they have satisfies the College of Social Sciences (CoCC)  English language eligibility before submitting their application for China scholarships Council (CSC) funding.
• Candidates should applying on and before the application closing date.
• Candidates who is current first year Ph.D for the China scholarships Council (CSC) Ph.D Scholarship, the College of Social Sciences (CoSS) will no longer accept. This scholarship will be open only to prospective postgraduate (Ph.D) candidates.

Benefits Of CSC PhD Scholarships

This scholarship will cover 100% tuition fees to any eligible candidates for at least Ph.D study duration period.The China scholarships Council (CSC) will consider applications for a living allowance.

How To Apply For  CSC PhD Scholarships

Applicants Should applying with the specific time, candidates to considered for China scholarships Council must:

• Applying for a Postgraduate (Ph.D) at the College of Social Sciences (CoSS) earliest as  possible, and candidates who applied after January 31, 2025 would not  considering.
• Applicants who wishes to start their Ph.D research at University of Glasgow, please show in the funding separate of your application form for admission that you interested to submit for the China scholarships Council funding.
• All prospective applicants must fill and complete the College of Social Sciences (CoSS) and China Scholarship Council application form at the Scholarships Application Portal through.
•  Applicants show uploads the College of Social Sciences (CoSS) and China Scholarship Council (CSC) Ph.D Scholarship application form together with Supervisor Statement of Support College of Social Sciences (CoSS) and China Scholarship Council (CSC) provided by the supervisors.The Supervisor Statement of Support (SSS) is a major basic of the application and the assessment process of scholarships. The Supervisor Statement of Support (SSS) is to be returned to candidates by your supervisors and you will be required to upload it to CoSS-CSC  Portal by the specified date.
• Candidates to be eligible for this scholarship, it is better for candidates have an unconditional Provisional offer of admission on and or before the  China scholarships Council application deadline. Candidates who hold a Provisional offer of admission must have meets all the English Language eligibility. Candidates should ensure that they have satisfies the College of Social Sciences (CoCC)  English language eligibility before submitting their application for China scholarships Council (CSC) funding. Candidates who do not have a PhD offer by China scholarships Council (CSC) specified date, candidates their will not be qualified for the next stage..
•  If the College of Social Sciences (CoSS) has decided on the nominations of applications for the 2025/2026, the candidates who is nominated will be notify for the PhD offer of admission stating this for submission of their application to the China scholarships Council (CSC).
• Candidates who is Shortlisted must also apply directly to the China scholarships Council at the time of the application form. Visit the CSC Portal for scholarships programmes at http://apply.csc.edu.cn/csc/main/person/login/index.jsf and the application selection criteria outlined and the complete of the China scholarships Council application form by the specific period of time. all candidates who meets the Shortlisted stage by CSC should apply at the China scholarships Council/University of Glasgow.
• Candidates must be Shortlisted by the University of Glasgow and qualified with the China scholarships Council (CSC) requirements in order to be considered for this scholarship scheme.

Assessment Process

1. Applications will be selected in terms of applicants qualifications and the excellent of proposed project.
2. College of Social Sciences (CoSS) are required all funded PhD applicants to be able to finish their PhD programmes  within the specified funded period.
3. All applications Submitted are reviewed and decided by the College funding panel. Only candidates who nominated by the College Graduate School will be qualified for the 100% tuition fee.
4. College of Social Sciences (CoSS)  will shortlist Ten (10) applications for a total of 5 funded places.
5. Applications shortlisted by the College of Social Sciences (CoSS) College are subject to final approval by the China Scholarship Council (CSC).
